Selected from a pool of extremely well-qualified candidates, they enrich our offerings and community with their individual successes, diverse perspectives + exemplary skills. Combined, they epitomize the whole is greater than the sum of its parts as they navigate the opportunities and challenges in our industry today and set us up to be the innovators of tomorrow.

Board Secretary

  • Name: Chris Mahowald

    Bio: Chris Mahowald is the managing partner of RSF Partners, a series of real estate private equity funds totaling $1.5 billion in equity. Prior to forming RSF in 1997, he was partner with the Robert M. Bass Group where he was a founding principal in several real estate-related private equity funds, including the Lone Star and Colony Capital. Prior to joining the Bass Group, he was a principal for the Trammell Crow Company. Chris has served on the Board of Directors for a number of private and public companies including Capstead Mortgage where he served as chairman as well as American Security Products, IMPAC Commercial Holdings, and Omega Healthcare. He serves, or has served, on several non-profit boards, including Stanford University's DAPER Investment Fund and Teach for America. He received a BS in Math and Computer Science from Santa Clara University and an MBA from Stanford GSB. He is a faculty member at the GSB where he co-teaches the Real Estate Investment, Housing, and Mortgage Market courses.
