Description: Shonnan Usman majored in Public Relations with a minor in Information Technology, Design, and Startups, at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University (Syracuse, NY). He graduated in 2018. He’s won awards in poetry, leadership, and public speaking. Shonnan has been featured in various media outlets, including the front page of the Post-Standard, the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) Ramadan Stories at Sunset Blog, and has published work in the Message International Magazine. He served as the President of the Youth Activity Council at the Islamic Society of Central New York, was a 2015 MPAC Washington D.C. Summit Delegate, and was a Say Yes to Education Scholar. Shonnan was also awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award from the White House for his service to the Syracuse Community.
