Description: Imaan Shikoh is pursuing a B.A. in Public Policy with a minor in Science, Technology, Ethics and Policy (STEP) at the University of Maryland, College Park. As former opinion columnist at the University of Maryland's Diamondback, Imaan has advocated for local marginalized communities and has written on her passion in international relations and human rights policy. On campus, Imaan is the co-founder of the Asian American Policy Union, a leader of the Muslim Students’ Association's Public Relations team, and serves as the External Relations Director of the Policy Student Government Association. In her time as a research assistant, Imaan studied demographic trends in witness testimonies at the Maryland General Assembly, and is committed to addressing the underrepresentation of minorities within the governance system.
